Two men have been arrested after a photo from a College at Brockport off-campus party went viral.
The picture in question showed a dog doing a keg stand, being held by an unidentified male with a SUNY Brockport sweatshirt on. It was shared on Twitter with the caption “Keg stands n Bits!” The black Labrador Retriever, being held by its hind legs with the beer keg's nozzle in its mouth, prompted an animal abuse investigation.
“We were alarmed to learn of this disturbing photo,” the College at Brockport told TWC News. “The College will investigate this matter and take appropriate action once the details surrounding the photo are learned.”
Brockport Police arrested Robert Yates of Brockport and Shane Oliver of Bergen over the incident. Both were charged with torturing and injuring animals, and issued a ticket for an April 2 appearance in court.
Police stated that the dog is not owned by Yates or Oliver, and appeared to have been stolen. The dog has been taken into protective custody and is said to be in good condition.
Is this a case of animal cruelty or college students going too far? Let us know in the comments!
The dog wasn’t stolen. Please read other reports!
Excellent content and layout. Your website deserves the positive feedback it receives. I will be back soon for more excellent content
That the dog was “stolen” isn’t being stated as an opinion, but as what the cops said at the time. If the puppy was “borrowed” from the owners without their knowledge, as they claim, and involved in things about which they say they weren’t aware and for which they hadn’t given permission, not sure how else that might be phrased–dognapped?
Perhaps dognapped would have been a better choice of words — fair enough. Though stolen still works since the owner was unaware his dog was with these gentlemen.
You take my stuff without my knowing, I’d absolutely consider that theft
: )
Ohh that’s so sad. I’ve been dreaming of the dog all my life. The students who did this is so cruel. Recently my topic on research paper has been the animal abuse and it was animal abuse and I have ordered it on Ca.Papersowl.com online writing service because it has been too hard for me to prepare this kind of an assignment. I hope that such people like this receive punishment.
